The U.S could not bribe the Venezuelan courts, or influence the judiciary. They could not buy the election or successfully deploy their Soros and NED funded NGOs who operate deceitfully as pro-democracy and pro-public health agencies.
As Maduro explains, also the U.S could not claim weapons of mass destruction Venezuela possesses only conventional arms. So now weve reached the end of the line, where the U.S can no longer hide behind either the veneer of national security nor of actual bought-and-paid for election outcomes. In the present stage, the U.S is left only with one thing  to simply declare another man as the recognized president of a separate, sovereign state.

The Government of Canada supports the US in establishing the ability of an elected President to be removed)

Subject: Millions of piracy notices coming to Canadians can no longer demand cash
Ottawa has amended the rules to clarify that notices can't ask for settlement fees
Sophia Harris
CBC News
Jan 27, 2019

Close to four years after its piracy-notice system took effect, the federal government has amended the rules to clarify that the notices can't demand cash from Canadians.

Implemented in 2015, Canada's notice system enables copyright holders to send warning emails to people suspected of illegally downloading content such as movies or music.

Since its inception, critics have loudly complained that some notices crossed a line by threatening legal action if the recipient didn't pay a settlement fee often hundreds of dollars.

Recipients of such notices also loudly complained, including 89-year-old grandmother Christine McMillan in Toronto. In 2016, she received a notice demanding money for something she says she never did illegally download a shoot 'em up video game.

"I was really angry," she said. "This is a scam that's being perpetrated by the government."

The government has now clarified the rules with new amendments to Canada's Copyright Act. They state that piracy notices can't ask for personal information or a payment including a settlement fee.

"Our amendments to the regime will protect consumers," Hans Parmar, spokesperson for Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, said in an email.

However, some internet service providers (ISPs) claim the amendments don't go far enough.

Rights holders don't know their suspect's actual identity, only the IP address linked to the illegal download. While ISPs won't disclose the identity of a customer behind the IP address, they're obligated by law to forward that customer any piracy notices.

To cope with the flood of notices they must pass on, ISPs largely rely on automated systems, which means ones demanding cash could still slip through.

"The immediate onus is on ISPs to either search for or find some way to filter for these settlement demands, which is, I think, not really possible," said Andy Kaplan-Myrth, vice-president of regulatory and carrier affairs for internet provider TekSavvy.

Read on: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/piracy-copyright-government-settlement-fees-1.4993062?cmp=newsletter-news-digests-canada-and-world-morning
I have received dozens of these e-mails alleging piracy and demanding a fee to avoid legal action. They are passed on by my ISP. I download a lot of information from many different sources every week, so I read the threats carefully.

The piracy threats include information on what I have allegedly downloaded, when and how. I have the advantage of being able to decipher that information which shows me that I did not do what they allege.

For example, they accuse me of using a popular movie and software download service that I never use. That tells me it is a scam, so the e-mails go into a ‘scams’ folder. Very often the downloaded material is the racy sort of stuff I have no interest in. To most people, the information included, other than the title of the downloaded material and the time and date of download, is gibberish, which leaves them at a disadvantage.

The pirate does not know who you are or how to contact you directly or he would. He has no means of following up other than to send you another threatening e-mail which will be passed on by your ISP (internet service provider). Don’t respond in any way and above all do not send money. If you are nervous about the e-mail contact the Canadian Anti-fraud Centre, run by the RCMP and forward a copy to spam@fightspam.gc.ca.

Global warming is a fait accompli

Re: “The Davos Garden of Doom,” by Terence Corcoran, Jan. 25.

Like global warming alarmists, Terence Corcoran fails to realize that global warming has already taken place and no carbon tax can reverse it and it is not all bad.

In the chapter : “Go Global Warming!” about his 2007 visit to Greenland, of his book Silly Isles, Australian journalist Eric Campbell writes: “The icebergs were more plentiful this summer thanks to rising temperatures speeding up the ice cap’s annual melt. Glaciologists were warning the accelerating melt could raise sea levels around the world. But many of Greenland’s 58,000 residents couldn’t be happier, and none more so than Kenneth Huegh.

“Kenneth was a government agricultural consultant on an island that until recently had very little agriculture. Most food was imported from its old colonial master Denmark. But since the mid-90s the average annual temperature had risen two degrees. Now, in 2007, this inappropriately named land of ice was suddenly turning greener.”

Similarly, for a cold northern country like Canada, global warming means shorter winter and longer growing season and we can benefit from it. Instead of criticizing Davos participants, Terence Corcoran should write about how to adapt to global warming which is a fait accompli.

Tories Aim To ‘Militarize The Border’ To Stop Asylum Seekers
"We don't have the resources for that kind of half-baked, impractical plan.

Canada's immigration minister is accusing federal Conservatives of wanting to "militarize the border" to stop asylum seekers from crossing irregularly from the United States.

Ahmed Hussen made the charge at an event in Ottawa Tuesday after he was asked about the number of migrants who have crossed into Quebec over the past year.

"I haven't seen anything from the Conservatives," Hussen said. "They don't have a plan. You know what their plan is? To militarize the border and place a (Canada Border Services Agency) official or an RCMP official every 100 metres.

"We don't have the resources for that kind of half-baked, impractical plan."

Hussen was referencing how Tories are proposing to close a so-called loophole in the Safe Third Country agreement between Canada and the U.S. by having the entire border declared an official point of entry.

According to the pact, which came into effect in 2004, Canada and the U.S. recognize each other as safe places for refugee claimants to seek protection. Under the agreement, people must apply for asylum in the first country where they arrive, unless an immediate family member lives in the other country.

Canada can turn back would-be refugees at the border on the basis that they must instead make claims in the U.S., where they first arrived. However, the pact only applies at official border points, which helps explain why crossings have occurred between checkpoints. The government has been calling people who enter Canada this way "irregular" border crossers.

Those who cross the border irregularly are arrested by the RCMP, but they are entitled under international law to make an asylum claim after a background check. More than 38,000 irregular migrants who originate from places like Haiti, Somalia and El Salvador have arrived in Canada since the beginning of 2017.

International law provides for an illegal immigrant to seek asylum if he or she came directly from a nation where they were persecuted or threatened. Illegal immigrants crossing to Canada from the USA do not qualify.

Hussen claims the Conservatives have no plan for immigration and then proceeds to lambast the plan that they don’t have.

People who cross into Canada illegally need to be arrested and held in secure detention facilities until they pass a security screening and are eligible to file an asylum claim. When that takes place, they can be moved to a more open detention facility until their claims are processed.

We have no obligation to put up asylum seekers in hotels. A series of barracks and mess halls are adequate. We can supply clothing – underwear, grey jump suit or leisure pants and tops, running shoes, sweaters and jackets.

Emergency medical aid must be provided, but they should not qualify for provincial health care until their application for asylum or immigration is approved. Immigrants should not be granted broadened health coverage not available to the average citizen.

Our borders must be secure against illegal intrusion. We need to repurpose the Maribel airport facility into a refugee detention centre. That would turn an expensive, unused facility to valued public use.

Hussen did not give us any assurance that his government can deal with illegal immigration.

Canada is not "immune" from the effects of increased global migration due to conflict and other issues, he said. "There's an increased number of people on the move, the largest increase since the Second World War." That has nothing to do with properly managing Canada’s immigration and refugee system which is Hussen’s job. We have suffered three and a half years of government evasions and half-truths on the immigration file and Hussen has nothing useful to add.

Certain decisions were made that threw our immigration and refugee system into chaos including long waiting times to process applications. Nothing has been done to stop the flow. We need competent supervision of the immigration department. That is not happening.
